A start-up business with a team of high-flying founders, Sojourn Solutions needed a brand proposition and a look and feel that reflected both the softer side of their business ethos and the harder, more process-driven issues of their clients’ needs. Sojourn Solutions turned to Ratio for help articulating their position and creating a stunning brand look and feel.
The company name was already in existence, so it was an apt place to start the discovery process. We quickly narrowed the definition of Sojourn to ‘A journey within a journey’ and started to view the world of marketing operations through this lens. It was clear from the outset that the team saw themselves as guides and wanted to deliver their services in a way that would be supportive and nurturing.
Our research and discovery processes unearthed a number of fundamental truths:
- The sense of trust, partnership and togetherness was important both in the client and employee relationships
- Marketing operations in B2B is relatively new and many processes and integrations are flawed
- The digital landscape is ever-changing
These were then distilled into a core proposition of ‘Together we can’. Landscape images were chosen to represent the vastness of the digital environment and the task in hand. Overlays of ‘flip chart’ drawings and landscapes with ‘human’ elements demonstrate the sense of journey and outcome.
In comparison to Sojourn’s competitors, their messaging and look and feel are distinctive and memorable. They bring a fresh approach and attitude to a marketplace that is dominated by a small number of big players.
